Getting Started

A quick overview of the typical takeoff workflow, from uploading a drawing to exporting your measurements.

Steps

Upload your drawing: go to the Upload page and drag-and-drop your PDF.
Set the scale: pick a preset or calibrate against a known dimension. Measuring is locked until the scale is confirmed.
Run Auto Takeoff (optional): use the lightning-bolt menu to detect walls, doors, glazing, and rooms automatically.
Add manual measurements: use the New Takeoff menu (Area, Linear, Count, and More Measurements), or press L for a Line.
Review and edit: use the Select tool to adjust AI detections or refine your manual measurements.
Export: download a PDF of your sheets with their visible takeoff overlays, or an Excel workbook of the quantities.
Estimate (optional): on the ESTIMATES tab, price your takeoffs and export a proposal.

•Your work is auto-saved as you go. Once the sheet tab bar shows "Saved", you can close the browser and return later to continue.
•Each sheet in a multi-page PDF maintains its own independent set of measurements.
