Keyboard Shortcuts Reference
A reference of the keyboard shortcuts available during takeoffs.
Shortcuts
- •Tools: S/V = Select, P/H = Pan, L = Line, A = Area, C = Count, M = Linear (A and M reuse the shape you last picked in the New Takeoff menu)
- •Annotations: Shift + T = Text Box, Shift + K = Callout, Shift + R = Rectangle, Shift + E = Ellipse, Shift + C = Cloud, Shift + I = Line, Shift + A = Arrow, Shift + D = Dimension, Shift + H = Highlight, Shift + L = Legend (Circle has no shortcut)
- •Start a new takeoff (Alt, or Option on Mac): Alt + A = Area, Alt + L = Linear, Alt + C = Count, Alt + D = Linear with Drop, Alt + S = Surface Area, Alt + 2 = Volume 2D, Alt + 3 = Volume 3D
- •Editing: Cmd/Ctrl + Z = Undo, Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + Z = Redo, Cmd/Ctrl + A = Select All, Cmd/Ctrl + C = Copy, Cmd/Ctrl + X = Cut, Cmd/Ctrl + V = Paste, Cmd/Ctrl + D = Duplicate
- •Drawing: Enter = Finalize the in-progress linear or area
- •Escape = Step back one level: close an open menu, clear the selection, leave vertex editing, or cancel the shape you are drawing (finished shapes are kept). With nothing in progress, Escape finishes measuring, and a takeoff finished with nothing drawn is kept at 0 on the sheet it was started on. With the Count tool, Escape ends the count and keeps its markers.
- •Delete/Backspace = Delete the selection (measurements, takeoffs, annotations or a legend). With a folder selected (clicking a folder header selects it), it deletes the takeoffs in that folder, and the folder itself if you created it; a folder that has takeoffs asks you to confirm first. With one linear or area selected, it deletes the vertex under your cursor instead.
- •Navigation: Cmd/Ctrl + 0 or Home = Fit to page, Space (hold) = Temporary pan (keeps a shape you are drawing), Arrow keys = Pan view, Shift + arrows = Fast pan
- •Shortcuts are disabled while typing in a text field so tools don't fire mid-rename. The one exception is Cmd/Ctrl + 0 (fit to page).
