Edge Auto-Pan
While drawing a measurement or dragging a vertex, moving your cursor near the edge of the viewport automatically pans the view in that direction. This lets you work on shapes that extend beyond the visible area without stopping to manually pan.
Steps
- Start drawing a line, linear, or polygon area measurement and place the first point, or start dragging a vertex of a selected shape.
- Move your cursor within 40 pixels of any edge of the viewport.
- The view automatically pans in that direction at a steady speed.
- Move your cursor back away from the edge to stop auto-panning. While drawing, moving off the canvas also stops it; during a vertex drag, it keeps panning until you move away from the edge or release the mouse button.
Notes
- •Auto-pan activates mid-segment while drawing, and during vertex drags. It does not trigger while moving a whole shape, box-selecting, or placing count markers.
- •The pan speed is constant: move toward the edge to pan, away to stop.
