Legend Tool
Place a summary table on your drawing that shows your takeoff measurements with their names, colors, and values. Useful for creating a visual reference directly on the plan.
Shortcut Shift + L
Steps
- Open the Annotation menu on the toolbar and choose Legend, or press Shift + L.
- Click and drag on the canvas to draw the bounding box where you want the legend to appear.
- Release to place the legend. It auto-populates with your current takeoff data, and the tool switches back to Select.
- To move the legend, drag its body with the Select tool active (press S or V first if you are using Pan).
- To resize, click the legend with the Select tool to select it, then drag any of the four corner handles.
Notes
- •The legend updates automatically as you add or modify takeoffs.
- •Each visible takeoff in the project is listed, including takeoffs with nothing on this sheet, with a type icon in its color, its name, and its total. Hidden takeoffs are omitted, and a legend does not appear until at least one takeoff is visible.
- •You can place multiple legends on different parts of the drawing.
- •To delete: right-click the legend and choose "Delete Legend", or select it and press Delete.
