AI Room Detection
The AI detects individual rooms and enclosed spaces on your floor plan and calculates their area in square feet.
Steps
- Rooms appear as colored polygon overlays, one color per room type. Hover over a room for about a second to see its square footage, or turn on Labels (top right of the drawing) to show square footage on each room; this labels your other takeoffs too.
- Rooms are grouped by detected type (Office, Storage, etc.) under a "Rooms" subfolder in the takeoff list, with summed square footage per type.
Notes
- •Each room is measured separately as interior area, excluding wall thickness.
- •A room's area is the room shape minus any holes inside it, and you see the same number in every view.
- •Room boundaries are determined by detected walls, glazing, and door openings.
- •You can edit room boundaries after detection using the Select tool to adjust vertices.
