AI Wall Detection
The AI detects wall segments on your floor plan and calculates total wall linear footage.
Steps
- Walls appear as polylines overlaid on the drawing.
- Walls only and All Takeoffs give a single "Walls" item in the Auto Takeoffs folder with the total wall linear footage (LF). Walls by type instead gives one item per wall type (for example "Type P1"), plus an "Untyped" item for any walls it could not match, grouped under a "Walls" subfolder that shows the total. To split walls you already have, click the "By type" button on the Walls row. If the sheet has no wall tags or legend, you keep the single Walls total (see Walls by Type).
Notes
- •By default, wall LF excludes door openings.
- •To include them, select a wall takeoff (the Walls item, or a wall type after Walls by type) and check "Include door openings (+3' per door leaf)" in the Measure panel. Each door leaf credited to that takeoff adds 3 LF (a double door adds 6 LF). Each door is credited to the nearest wall takeoff on its sheet.
- •You can edit wall vertices with the Select tool like any other measurement.
