Applying an Assembly to a Takeoff

Price a takeoff from your price book. The takeoff takes the assembly's name, and its row on the estimate worksheet picks up the pricing.

Steps

In the takeoff viewer, start a takeoff or select one in the Takeoffs tab so the Measure panel is open on the right.
Pick an assembly from the Assembly dropdown. The takeoff is renamed to the assembly's name.
Open the ESTIMATES tab. The takeoff's row fills in the assembly's labor and material rates, pricing methods, waste, and the CSI code of its section.

•The unit has to match what the takeoff measures: EA assemblies go on counts, LF on lines, linears, and Linear with Drop, and SF, CF, or CY on areas, Surface Area, Volume 2D, and Volume 3D. A mismatch is blocked with an explanation.
•An hourly or per-each rate arrives as Per Qty, so enter the hours or quantity on the worksheet row.
•If the row already had anything entered (a rate, waste, CSI code, or pricing method) before you applied an assembly, it is left as it is. Once a row has been filled from an assembly, switching the takeoff to a different assembly refills its labor, material, and waste (and its CSI code when the new assembly's section has one), replacing your edits to them.
•Choose No assembly to take it off; the takeoff gets its earlier name back. Rates already on the worksheet stay until you change them.
•Editing an assembly later does not change takeoffs or estimates already priced with it.
•No assemblies yet? Create them under Assemblies in the Workspace menu, or save an estimate row as one.
