Estimates & Proposals
Estimate Worksheet
The Worksheet turns your takeoffs into priced rows of direct costs. You can also add line items that no takeoff covers, plus general conditions for indirect costs.
Steps
- Open a project and click ESTIMATES in the project header. The Worksheet view lists your takeoffs as rows under Auto Takeoffs and User Takeoffs, each with its quantity and unit.
- Click Select Takeoffs to choose which takeoffs are included. On a project with more than one sheet, use the Takeoffs from dropdown to price one sheet's quantities only.
- Give each row a CSI Code: type one, or click the arrow in the cell to browse the list.
- Enter a Waste % to raise the quantity that gets priced. The adjusted quantity shows under the row's Qty.
- Price the row in its Labor, Material, Equipment, and Subcontract cells (see Pricing a Worksheet Row). The Multiplier column scales the whole row's cost.
- Click Add Line Item on the Additional Line Items bar for costs no takeoff covers, and enter the description, quantity, unit, and pricing.
- Below the worksheet, click Add Line Item next to the General Conditions/Requirements heading for indirect costs such as supervision, temporary facilities, and cleanup. Enter a quantity (months, weeks, or 1 for a lump sum) and the Labor, Material, Equipment, and Subcontract cost per unit.
Notes
- •Takeoff quantities come from your saved takeoffs, so you never type them in.
- •Quantities are rounded to 2 decimals before pricing, and money is rounded to the cent at each step, so rows, subtotals, and exports add up.
- •Count rows, and additional line items with a unit of EA, round waste up to whole units (14 plus 3% prices 15).
- •When one sheet is selected in Takeoffs from, a chip such as "A2.1 only" appears above the table. Click it to change the scope.
- •Number fields accept simple formulas, such as =4*120.
- •The estimate saves as you work. "Saving..." and "Saved" show next to the Estimate heading.
- •The save icon at the end of a takeoff or additional line item row saves its labor and material pricing and waste to your price book as an assembly (see Cost Assemblies).
