Estimate Templates

Save your standard line items, general conditions, markups, and proposal text once, and reuse them on the next bid.

Steps

  1. On the ESTIMATES tab, open Templates and choose Save current as template...
  2. Name the template and click Save template.
  3. On another project's ESTIMATES tab, open Templates and click the template's name to apply it.
  4. If the estimate already has line items, general conditions, inclusions, exclusions, allowances, or alternates, you're asked first, since the template replaces them. Click Replace with template to go ahead.
  5. To delete a template, click its trash icon, then click it again within 3 seconds to confirm.

Notes

  • •A template keeps your additional line items and general conditions with their rates and pricing methods, but clears their quantities, hours, waste, and multipliers so each project starts fresh.
  • •It also keeps your markups, alternates, allowances, clarifications and exclusions, inclusions, line comments, scope summary, and Prepared by name.
  • •Pricing on takeoff rows is not saved in a template. Use Cost Assemblies for that.
  • •Applying a template replaces those parts of the estimate, except line comments: the template's comments are added and your other comments stay. Client and project details, Usable SF, takeoff quantities, and takeoff-row pricing are not changed.
  • •After you apply a template, an Undo button appears for 10 seconds.
  • •Templates belong to your account, so you can use them on any project.
