Cost Assemblies

Assemblies are your price book: labor and material pricing per unit that you save once and reuse on takeoffs in any project.

Steps

  1. Open the Workspace menu (grid icon at the top left of the header) and choose Assemblies.
  2. Click Add Section, enter a Section name and an optional CSI code (for example 09-2900), and click Add Section.
  3. Click Add Assembly on a section. Enter the Assembly name, then pick its Section and Unit (EA, LF, SF, CF, or CY).
  4. Enter the Labor and Material rates. Each can be priced per unit, per hour, per each, or as a lump sum. Add a Waste % if you use one, then click Save Assembly.
  5. To save a priced worksheet row instead, click the save icon (Save as Assembly) at the end of the row on the ESTIMATES tab. Name it, choose a section (or + New section...), and click Save Assembly.

Notes

  • •Assemblies carry labor and material pricing plus waste. Equipment and subcontract costs are not saved in an assembly.
  • •When you save a line item whose unit isn't SF, LF, CF, or CY, the assembly's unit is EA.
  • •Use the pencil icon to edit an assembly. To delete an assembly or a section, click its trash icon, then click again within 3 seconds.
  • •Deleting a section keeps its assemblies; they move to Unsectioned.
  • •The Total / unit column adds up the per-unit rates only. Hourly, per-each, and lump sum rates are priced per line on the worksheet.
  • •Applying an assembly copies its values, so editing the library later does not change estimates already priced with it.
