Copy, Cut, and Paste

Copy or cut measurements and paste them elsewhere on the drawing.

Shortcut Cmd/Ctrl + C / X / V

Steps

1. Click a line, linear, or area on the drawing (Shift + click to add more from the same takeoff), or select a takeoff in the Takeoffs list to copy all of it.
2. Press Cmd/Ctrl + C to copy, or Cmd/Ctrl + X to cut. Cut removes the original immediately.
3. Press Cmd/Ctrl + V to paste. A copy appears slightly offset from the original, on the sheet it was copied from. Pasting a whole takeoff adds " (copy)" to its name; pasting a cut puts it back exactly in place.
4. Use the Select tool to drag the pasted measurement to its intended location.

Notes

• •The clipboard has two modes: with measurements selected on the canvas, copy/cut carry just those shapes and paste adds them back into the same takeoff. With only a takeoff selected in the list, they carry the whole takeoff and paste creates a new one.
• •Cmd/Ctrl + D duplicates the entire selected takeoff.
• •Cut, Copy, Paste, and Duplicate are also in the Edit menu on the toolbar.
