Moving Measurements

Reposition a line, linear, or area measurement on the drawing without changing its shape or dimensions. Only the shape you drag moves, even when several are selected. Count markers can't be dragged.

Steps

1. Switch to the Select tool (S or V).
2. Click the measurement to select it.
3. Click and drag on the shape body (not on a vertex handle) to move it. Moving is a two-step action: the first click selects, then a click-drag moves.
4. Release to place it in the new position.

Notes

• •A small drag threshold prevents accidental moves when clicking to select.
• •The cursor changes to a grabbing hand while dragging.
• •Moving a measurement does not change its measured value, only its position on the drawing.
