Splitting a Measurement

Cut one line, linear, or area measurement into two independent pieces, e.g. to split a detected wall run at a corridor.

Steps

1. Open the Edit menu on the toolbar and choose "Split".
2. Click on the line, or on an edge of the shape, where you want the cut. Lines and linears split at that point.
3. For closed areas, click a second edge to complete the cut through the polygon.
4. After a straight line is split, both halves are selected and the Select tool comes back. After a linear or an area is split, you stay in Split so you can keep cutting.

Notes

• •Escape clears a pending first cut point without leaving the Split tool.
• •If a cut can't be made, nothing changes and a message explains why.
